Union minister Ashiwini Vaishnav shared the pictures of the World’s highest railway bridge which is going to be constructed in Jammu and Kashmir. Minister Vaishnav shared about this achievement and the pictures on his tweeter handle on Monday.
The picture of the bride is quite fabulous and we can see an arch of the bridge over the river joining two mountains. The bridge is built over Chenab River and it is known as ‘Chenab Bridge’.
“The world’s highest #arch #ChenabBridge over the clouds” He stated in his tweet. The Chenab Bridge is going to play a major role in the 111 Km stretch between Katra and banihal. This will reduce the traveling by 2-3 hours. The project is built under the flagship program of Udhampur Srinagar Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL). Like the project on Indian Railways, it is stated that the bridge is going to be 1.3km in length. The Chenab Bridge is being built in resai district of Jammu and Kashmir over river Chenab.

A point to mark is the Chenab Bridge is at a height of 359 meters. For a better comparison and understanding, the bridge is 30 meters tall than the Eiffel tower in Paris. The construction of the bridge will help to build better connectivity into the Kashmir Valley. The construction of the world’s highest bridge began in 2004.

In March 2021, then Railway Minister Piyush Goyal shared a video on his tweeter handle which showed the beginning of the construction and we can clearly see the bottom part of the arch is been constructed. “In a historic moment, the arch bottom of Chenab Bridge at night has been completed today. Next, the arch upper of the engineering marvel in the making will be completed, It is all set to break the record and hold the position of world’s tallest statue”
