Jio Plans satellite broadband in India

In this very interesting time when Elon Musk is trying to penetrate the Indian market of the high-speed broadband network through his company Starlink, Jio has changed the whole game when they announced the launch of Jio high-speed satellite broadband network.

Currently, Elon Musk’s Starlink is operating in major parts of the world but not affecting a major portion of the population. The reason behind this is India, China, and Russia. These 3 countries combined have almost the majority of the population of the world. Russia has denied the Starlink project in their country because of security issues. As Starlink is an American company, Russia didn’t want an American company to dominate its internet space. The same scenario is with china. China has completely banned Starlink in their country.

Starlink has started the sales of their internet services in India and many people have pre-booked the services through the sterling website. The issue arises when it came to news that Starlink has started operating in India without taking the license to operate the satellite broadband service. India’s government stopped the further bookings of Starlink’s internet service.

It was in the news that Starlink is going to apply for the license on 31st Jan 2022. But there is not any official announcement regarding that. whereas Mukesh Ambani’s Jio has got the licenses to provide high-speed satellite internet.
